Hi.

Welcome to my blog! I document my experiences in travel including drinks, fashion, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Comfort for Everything

Comfort for Everything

Since the beginning of the year I have started to practice Yoga at least once a week. It has helped me re-balance myself, my thoughts and my energy - especially living in DC under this new president, urrrrrgggghhhh, I digress.

As I start this new practice and routine, I started to pick up a few new habits as well as looking into how I can support the things I love, even through minimum effort. One item I have fallen in love with and have tied it with my new found love for yoga are the clothes from prAna.

prAna offers sustainable, recycled, fair trade certified and hemp items. Not only that, but prAna prioritizes to giving back to communities all over the world: http://www.prana.com/about-us/giving-back.html

prAna's mission is to give people the option of reaching into their closet and dressing in items that reflect who they are. The versatile but classy clothing design  makes for outfits that can be worn to work or on an adventure.

The folks at prAna sent me two lovely pieces that I can use to seize the day -- a lovely pair of yoga pants, Chetan Capri in gray and a Cali Dress in cobalt. These two pieces are perfect for my Sunday routine -- yoga at noon and brunch afterwards! Both items are made with cotton and hemp, yes you read right, hemp.

Thanks to its natural heartiness, hemp doesn’t require any chemical pesticides or fertilizers, which makes it’s safer for the farmers that grow it as well as the land it’s grown on. In fact, this drought resistant plant does wonders for the soil it’s grown in. Farmers who grow hemp are able to plant food crops in the same field immediately after harvest—something not possible with a lot of other crops.

Once hemp is processed into fabric, it resembles linen in a lot of ways. It’s lightweight and remarkably breathable. It washes well, and because prAna blends theirs with other materials like organic cotton, recycled polyester, and spandex, it doesn’t wrinkle as much as linen does.

As soon as the Chetan Capri pants arrived, I put them on, pressed play to my yoga app and got ready to flow. The pants are super comfortable, breathable and super soft. It made my in-home yoga class amazing.

If it wasn't chilly today in DC, I would've put on that dress and walked around to show it off. It was comfy, with bra support and the most important part, it flowed beautifully on me - heck it made me even look skinny! So I am really looking forward to warmer weather and truly rock this comfy dress.
