I am jumping up and down with joy today...why you might ask? I finally get to announce my upcoming travel journey! Myself along with Carol Cain (Girl Gone Travel) and Chelle and Crystal Roberts (Brown Girls Fly) are heading to Olympic National Park in a few weeks as part of the American Latino Expedition!

Our team name is “Travelistas in Nature”. You can join in on the fun by following the hashtag ‪#‎ALEx13‬ on Facebook,Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest & check the expedition site often for our blog updates!

So what is American Latino Expedition? The American Latino Heritage Fund of the National Park Foundation has partnered with ARAMARK Parks and Destinations and REI to launch the @American_Latino Expedition to engage diverse audiences to visit, explore and enjoy America’s national parks. Together, they issued a national call for bloggers to apply for the opportunity to participate in a national park adventure. The Expedition will focus on education, park stewardship, outdoor recreation and exploration, all the while highlighting historic American Latino contributions at each site.

Our team will be heading to Olympic National Park (Washington) on August 25-28, 2013. We are elated to join the 2013 @American_Latino Expedition and for the opportunity to experience one of our country's natural gems. As travelers and writers, we thrive on exploration, cultural connection and the beauty of nature. So, this collaboration between the National Park Service and the American Latino Heritage Fund speaks personally to us, Travelistas in Nature. We are honored to be a part of the message that encourages others like us to explore and discover the national parks.

Want to get to know our team? Below I have included the bios that our friends at American Latino Heritage Fund have posted on their website:

Chelle and Crystal Roberts are sisters who have been traveling together since they were children. They started Brown Girls Fly to help other travelers -- particularly women of color -- to travel more affordably, more frequently, and further outside their comfort zones. Collectively, Chelle and Crystal have covered 35 countries on five continents and have an ever-growing "wander list" of places yet to explore. In addition to BrownGirlsFly.com, their travel experiences and expert tips have appeared in Upscale Magazine,MyHabanero.com and a variety of other travel websites.

Ana Serafin is a Venezuela-born travelista who has been living in the U.S. for more than 18 years. Ana has been blessed to travel around the world. When friends and family began asking to hear her travel stories and advice, Ana founded TravelingLatina.com to share her observations about culture, food, lifestyle, beauty and of course all things involved in the experience of a new destination. Traveling Latina is a two-time award winning blog by Blogs by Latinas and has been featured in major national publications such as Being Latino,Latina, El Sentinel de Orlando, Hispanicize, La Cosmopolatina, and New Latina.

Carol Cain is a travel and food blogger who shares her adventures at GirlGoneTravel.com. Originally from Brooklyn, Cain has studied and lived abroad, experiences that have nourished her wanderlust in and out of NYC, with or without her three boys in tow. Her travel stories have appeared in publications for MasterCard, Expedia, American Airlines and Lifetime Digital Media, as well as New York Family magazine and Better Homes and Gardens. She is a Forbes Travel Guide Correspondent, as well as the Family Travel Expert for Answers.com.
